Photo Gallery - La Befana 2009

The celebration of the Epiphany and the visit from LaBefana was a huge success and a great time was had by all – young and adult.  There were 148 members, guests, and children in attendance. 

A skit, complete with props, was used to tell the story of La Befana and it was enjoyable for the children and also the adults.  The story was narrated by Vanessa Jewell and LaBefana was played by Gabrielle Jewell (Joe and Roseanne DiBenedetto’s granddaughters. La Befana’s House and surrounding area were designed and erected by Tom Zaken.  Loretta Loconto read a poem about LaBefana. 

The adults had special entertainment.  Mike Tisme (Steve Tisme’s brother) told the story about how a tarantula stung a lady and her movements developed into the tarantella. A group of dancers demonstrated the moves as the story was being told.  The dancers then performed the Sicilian Tarantella so that everyone will learn the steps and then practice, and they will be ready to dance it at Carnavale 2009.

The Italian buffet was cooked by Chrissy Strowmeyer and Helen LaBarre.  The Caesar’s Salad was created by Joe DiBenedetto. 

Chrissy Strowmeyer chaired this super event.  This was a fun time for everyone.
