Photo Gallery - La Befana 2008

On January 6, 2008, La Societa Italiana held a celebration in honor of La Befana, the good witch who leaves gifts for children while searching for the Christ Child. 

Attendance was well over a hundred and approximately fifty were children.  Aragorn the Magician and his assistant entertained the children, while they awaited the arrival of La Befana, with face painting, balloon making and a magic act. 

Then came a portrayal of the La Befana story that took place outside her house, a prop built especially for the play by Tom Zaken.  The older children were the actors in the play.  Chrissie Strohmeyer was the Narrator and Lisa Zaken played La Befana.  Special effects were created by Don Strohmeyer.  JoAnn & John Nuzzulo and JoAnn DePace assisted with the production. 

After La Befana distributed gifts, everyone went through the buffet for a great Italian buffet prepared by Allan LaBarre.  Joe DiBenedetto created his famous Caesar Salad.  The food was outstanding. 

Many thanks to all of the people who participated in this event.  It was well attended and a great time was had by all.
