Thirty members and guests met at the Bernie/Marilyn Santa Maria Café and Movie Theater on April 14th to watch the Bernini film “The Monster”.
The weather was cold and damp with rain storms in parts of the Greater Atlanta Area. We entered the Café/Theater through a downpour of rain, but once inside, the atmosphere was warm and cozy and everyone was immediately in a “party mood”.
An assortment of Italian wines and an array of appetizers put the entire group in a festive mode and there was a great sense of camaraderie felt throughout the Cocktail Party in the Café.
A blinking of the lights was the signal for everyone to proceed into the Theater. The film was a highly humorous comedy and there was much laughter from the audience. The title of the film “The Monster” might make you think it was going to be a horror movie. No way. It was a continuous, fast moving (almost slap-stick) comedy.
At intermission and end of the movie, desserts and coffee were available and there was much discussion about some of the episodes in the movie.
It was a super great evening. Our thanks go to Marilyn and Bernie Santa Maria for opening their home to us for this event and choosing a really funny movie. Their hospitality is greatly appreciated. Gracie tante.
